Deva Haney has been writing since she learned how to spell. Until You Electrocute Everyone, a poetry chapbook, is her first published work. Deva is also currently working on a memoir that centers on the loss of her husband, children and brother. She lives in Austin with her more-than-a-boyfriend Jason, two old dogs and a three-legged cat. She is an RN but currently chooses not to work as a nurse, has a modest but dedicated fan base for her homemade baked goods and tends to pshaw those who try to thank her too much.

Spike Gillespie is the critically acclaimed author of many books and countless magazine articles. Her work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic Traveler, Texas Monthly, The Dallas Morning News, and other publications. In 2006, Austin Chronicle readers voted her Best Author in Austin. Spike also provides commentary for KUT. The Maine Event is her seventh book, a real-life travel adventure that culminates in a rush of events including a moose spotting, a full bladder, an empty wallet, and an escalating argument at the Canadian border.
